Demo of a “lean-back” Hulu viewing experience, implemented by a senior capstone team here in GVSU’s School of Computing. The project involved three primary components: an Android application that takes in user input (queue video and social actions), a server hosted on Google App Engine that maintains user information and provides a rendezvous point for queued video, and a Chrome browser extension that loads queued video. Features include queuing up videos to watch on your PC, via your Android phone, and a “sync” feature that allows to different users to engage in a shared viewing experience. The team consisted of students Jesse Holwerda, Chris Farber, Sam DeHaan and Phi Dao. The project was sponsored by Dr. Nitya Narasimhan a researcher at Motorola.
